Why

Because every life is a gift. Because every person is made in the image and likeness of God. Because every woman deserves to be cherished in her maternity. Because we need to uphold one another.

Because pro-life isn’t about labels. Pro-life is about people.

In Deus Caritas Est (God is Love), Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI says: “Love—caritas—will always prove necessary, even in the most just society. There is no ordering of the State so just that it can eliminate the need for a service of love.” Even in a post-Roe world, there will continue to be women who experience unexpected pregnancies, who need authentic relationships, genuine dialogue, and intentional accompaniment. Even in a society where the dignity of the prenatal child is recognized and legally upheld and where women and children receive ample support, there will still be the need for loving, personal concern.

Our hope is that every person who watches this series will come to know deeply that their life is a gift, that they are good, made in God’s image, and that their life has profound meaning and worth. This series is meant to be not only a resource for pro-life work, but for the whole scope of human relationships — because it’s ultimately about upholding each other, about listening and accompaniment, and about affirming the other in their goodness and worth. It’s about seeing and loving in truth. When we know we’re loved, we can soar.
